Terms of use

The rules for using kiersgarage.com, the free max bid calculator, the member tools and the Kiers Garage tools in ChatGPT and Claude.

1. About us

This website is run by Kiers Garage, the trading name of Kieran Lowrie, a sole trader based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply when you use kiersgarage.com, including the free max bid calculator, the member tools at kiersgarage.com/tools, the contact and booking form, and the Kiers Garage tools you can use inside ChatGPT or Claude through kiersgarage.com/mcp. By using any of them you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

Car Flip Academy UK memberships, including Premium and VIP, are sold and billed by Skool on Skool's terms. Our privacy policy explains how we use personal data.

3. Information, not advice

The calculators, checklists, guides, videos and live reviews are general information and education. They aren't financial, legal, tax or mechanical advice for your situation, and they aren't an inspection of any car.

Results depend on the numbers and answers you put in. Fees, prices and rules change. We check IAA UK's published fee table from time to time, but always check the current fees with the auction before you bid.

Buying, repairing and selling cars carries risk, and you can lose money. We don't promise any profit or income. You decide what to buy and how much to pay. Figures from our own flips are our results on individual cars, losses included, not a prediction of what you'll make.

4. The calculator and member tools

The max bid calculator on this site is free and needs no account.

The member tools are free while they're being built. Later we may make some of them part of a paid Car Flip Academy plan, change what they do, or withdraw them.

You sign in with your email address and a code we send you. Only sign in with an email address you use, keep your codes to yourself, and one sign-in is for one person.

We try to keep the tools working and accurate, but we can't promise they'll always be available or free of mistakes.

5. Our tools in ChatGPT and Claude

Some of our tools can be used inside ChatGPT or Claude. Your use of those apps is covered by OpenAI's or Anthropic's own terms.

Our tools only work with what's put into them, and the assistant may summarise or reword our results. If anything looks wrong, check it on kiersgarage.com.

If we switch on an MOT history tool, its data comes from the DVSA and shows what was recorded at each MOT test. It isn't a guarantee of a car's condition today. Where we show MOT data, it contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

We may change, limit or switch off these tools at any time, including to stop misuse.

6. Using the site fairly

Please don't:

  • try to break, overload or get round the security of the site, the sign-in or the tools
  • use automated tools to copy the site or flood the tools with requests (normal use through ChatGPT or Claude is fine)
  • use the site for anything unlawful, or to send spam
  • copy our content or tools to sell, or pass them off as your own

We can block access for anyone who breaks these rules.

7. The contact and booking form

Sending the form is an enquiry, not a booking. We'll reply to confirm the price, the time and what's included before any job goes ahead, and the job is then covered by what we agree. Your rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, aren't affected.

8. Our content

The text, videos, images, tools and code on this site belong to Kiers Garage or are used with permission. You're welcome to share links and to use the tools for your own cars. Please don't copy large parts of the site or the tools without asking.

We link to other websites, such as Skool, IAA, Shiply and AnyVan. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them. If a link earns us a commission, we'll say so next to it.

10. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

If you use the site as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights. We're responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable.

You make your own decisions about buying, repairing and selling cars. Our tools and information are a guide, not a guarantee, and we're not responsible for losses that come from those decisions, except where the law says we can't exclude that responsibility.

If you use the site for a business, we're not liable to you for loss of profit, business or opportunity.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.

12. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there.
